Jonathan Kay is currently a PhD student in the department of East-West Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco under the mentorship of Dr. Debashish Banerji. His research is exploring the intersection between Eastern wisdom traditions grounded in the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo, and poststructuralist philosophy/psychology based on the work of Gille Deleuze and Felix Guattari. As a scholar-practioner in arts-based research, Jonathan is exploring musico-philosophical horizons between thought and sound, and his original music is based upon hetero-cultural and transnomadic experimentation through contemplative models of improvisation.
